A nest built with love

We have an accent wall, washed linens and a made-up crib thanks to my Executive Design Team. And paint colors picked out for the kitchen, dining room and master bedroom wall. And my baby book, which notes that I was 6 pounds, 7 ounces when I was born and that I called my uncle "Ka-bah" and my dad "Ta-dah" at 15 months.

And Hunter had several light-bulb moments about his wife. I think he said at least a dozen times, after my Mom or sister said or did something, "Oh, NOW I get why she ________."

Having my mother and sister here meant the world to me and I miss them already.

Yesterday Mom brought home the crib mattress and a few other things for the baby, and we wedged it into Hunter's car (which doesn't fit nearly as much as mine). So we had less seating than before, but I think Mom and Elizabeth secretly enjoyed lounging and no seatbelts. They live on the edge.

While they were painting this weekend, one of the things I did was put a collection of family photos in a prominent place in our living room. We have pictures of McGills, Boones, Owens, Thompsons, Georges and Georgiouras. I love it more every time I look at it, and it's because family is my soul. What other people know you better than anyone and love you anyway?

I'm so happy that Hunter and I - and the Littlest George - are part of this interesting, determined, complicated and big-hearted group of people.

Looks great! And I love your mom and Elizabeth lounging on the mattress...lol! Family is so important and I know that the Littlest George will be so loved, too.
