Now, down to business

Since I got the emotional post out of the way yesterday, I thought I'd share some practical news that I learned from the doctors this week.

I've mentioned my Award-Winning Sinus Problems. They're so bad that a doctor at the top of the field at the University of Washington was stumped. So he took a sabbatical. (Seriously. He has operated on me twice, has given me every antibiotic under the sun, and has seen me every three weeks for the past six months. Nothing worked, then he took six months off. Coincidence? Hmmm.)

Anyway, we tried everything but a Santeria offering to cure my ongoing infection, but now it looks like I've turned a corner. I visited the UW on Monday, and the substitute doc said my nose and sinus lining appears, for the first time, to NOT BE INFECTED. So that means no more worry about that infection traveling to other parts of my body during the pregnancy and causing problems.

I'm giving The Kid credit.

Back at the OB's office, she told us that I would be able to start feeling the baby move in another four weeks, and that Hunter would be able to feel him or her move three weeks after that. She also told me that my hair falling out, bad skin and leg cramps were normal and to stop complaining already.

But I think I'll still complain a little. To Hunter. Who deserves a medal for sympathetically nodding, every time. What a prince.

Dude, seriously, complain to Hunter. He's the one that got you in this mess ;) It's his DUTY to nod and agree.

Hi Hunter! Love you! No offense!

So I'm sittin' there in the doc's office and the nurse asks Kathleen if she needs to undress for the exam.

Ever quick to help, I jump right in: "Ma'am," I say, "I'd be happy to help Kathleen undress, but that's what got us into this situation in the first place."
