It's official: I'm getting a day job.
After 10 years of working afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends and almost every holiday, I'll be moving to the business team by Dec. 1 and working Monday through Friday, 8-5, with weekends and holidays off.

I've avoided posting this news here until now because I was afraid of jinxing it. But the discussions have been going on for awhile and they made the announcement last week. The only thing I didn't know was a start date, which I found out yesterday.
I'll be working as a reporter, covering Tacoma's downtown, big business and economic development. It's a big beat and slightly intimidating, but I'm getting amazing encouragement from so many of my colleagues. Plus, my natural fear of screwing up will hold me in good stead.
But what I'll savor most of all is the schedule. Nights when I'll be home for dinner. Whole weekends with my husband. Dinner parties that don't have to be planned around my crazy schedule.
It's gonna be great.

Well as they say in the south "smack yo mama!" That's great news! I'll bet the LG is doing handstands!
