Ryan's almost four months old, and I've finally gotten used to the pace of staying at home. Putting my brain in a pickle jar has helped, since every day is almost the same. Sometimes, the only way I know the day of the week is by the presence of Hunter and Maddie in the house in the morning. If Maddie's here, it's Monday or Friday. If Hunter's here, it's Saturday.
My day confusion is so severe that I went to an appointment with my nose doctor in Seattle a whole day early. Yup. My appointment was on Thursday and I showed up on Wednesday. The nurses took pity on me and had the doctor see me anyway, since it's clear that I might forget my own name if I didn't have a driver's license.
After the chaos that was the first six weeks, I'm trying to take comfort in the predictability. Every day, starting between 7 and 7:30, we start the eat-play-nap cycle until he goes to bed between 6 and 7 in the evening. I try to leave the house once a day to run an errand or see friends, but he's still small enough that he can only be awake about an hour and a half before he needs to nap again.
So I'm sticking close to home until his awake time lengthens, which I hope will be soon.
Otherwise I may lose my pickled mind altogether.
Editor's note: This is my first attempt at editing video with iMovie. It's about 35 minutes of play edited down to two and a half minutes. It's a good thing he's cute.

He is sooo cute. I am sending him out a cell phone so he can talk to me! OF COURSE it's a fake one!!!!
Awwww, he's so cute! I wanna hold him again. Love how he pokes himself in the eye with the dragonfly on the way to putting it in his mouth. Watch out, everything will be going in the mouth now!
