As excited as Hunter and I have been about Ryan's talking, the most amazing thing has been watching how he responds to Maddie. For several weeks he's taken extra notice of her any time she's in the room, turning his head toward her voice and stopping his hand-waving and kicking, even if only briefly, to concentrate on her presence.
And last night after dinner, they had the longest conversation of Ryan's life. He talks to her more than to either of his parents. Maybe that will continue into adulthood -- my brother might have some thoughts on that. He has amazing older sisters, too.
Ryan clearly thinks Maddie's the coolest kid in the world. And/or he knows that later, she'll be able to buy him beer and take him to the tattoo parlor.
(On a techinical note, I'm working on how dark these videos are. Part of is that in our neck of the woods, we still don't have much sunshine... but surely there's a technical trick that can compensate for that. I'll find it before Ryan graduates from high school.)

On a side note...how cute is Maddie's giggle?! Love it!!
