And we move on into July 4, when it was still cold here. Really. Jacket weather. Watch the fireworks under a blanket weather. Elizabeth, you know what I'm thinking here.
Anyway, our social life has come out from the baby enduced thaw, and we were invited to two parties. That has never happened to me. This is what being married to Hunter is like... the social thing just rubs off on ya.
So we went to both, because we really dig both families. The first was at the home of the parents of Ryan's film-negative daycare buddy, Whitney. Whit-whit and Ry-guy have been avoiding naps together since 2009. They are a month apart, and we've gotten to know their awesome parents through a combination of daycare and professional coincidences.
Note that Ryan has a mouthful of food: this is a theme of July, the month of Hungry All The Time.
I took very few photos on July 4, because as the lead photographer here at Littlest George, I took the day off and had some drinks. I took zero photos at the second party, with the awesome Kearsley family, because Ryan went to bed there and I was so freaked out by that, I had a few drinks afterward.
Here we are at the first party, though! Ryan loves reading, in case I hadn't mentioned it.

We woke Ryan up after the fireworks and headed for home. It was the first time he had been awake after the sun went down, well, ever. As Hunter carried him to the car, the neighbors stil were igniting their fireworks and Ryan looked around and said, "Whoa! Pop-pop-pop."
The ride home was "Whoa! Pop-pop-pop. Hello! Hello! Hi! Hi! Whoa." [Repeat.]
When we got home, I walked upstairs with him and expected to rock him for a few minutes so he could relax and go back to sleep. But as soon as I sat down, he said emphatically, "Bye-bye! Night-night!"
I put him in his bed and didn't hear another peep.*

Finally, we got some heat. So we celebrated with popsicles. This was the first time Ryan had a popsicle when he wasn't vomiting. Yay for small treats!
It finally is warm here -- hot, by Pacific Northwest standards. (All y'all in the South and Southwest, I know, have skin melting off your body. But you have central air conditioning so I don't want to hear about it.)
The LG finds a cool spot where he can. On the linoleum with Buddy:

And now we return to the month of Hungry All the Time. Below is Ryan's menu for yesterday, July 25, 2010.
Breakfast, 6:30 a.m.: One piece of toast, two bowls of applesauce, one waffle, one cup of milk.
Breakfast No. 2, 8:30 a.m.: Bowl of Raisin Bran.
Snack at church: Goldfish crackers.
Lunch after church: Scrambled eggs, mixed-berry pancake, one piece of hashbrown.
Snack after nap, before pool: Two bites of banana.
This led to the pool, pictured below with our neighbor and friend, Hailey, where he ate between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.: One cup of grapes, one cup of goldfish crackers, one string cheese, one cup of raisins.
I'm having grapes. What are you having?
Nevermind, I don't really care.
Haley's dad, Chris, and Hunter have a conversation that requires major hand gestures. I'm sure it was about
Those guys are still talking, and we're on our second snack.
For dinner he had one bite of broccoli, half a bowl of peaches and a piece of peanut-butter toast.
Yes. I know. He eats no vegetables and very little fruit. Address your criticism to Hunter, who passed on those genes. (Those, and the social ones, and the fart-humor ones.)
All play and no work makes Ryan a very tired boy. Thank goodness he sleeps like a rock, even in this heat.

I cannot believe how big he has gotten...huge appetite = growth spurt! Great photos.
PS Yes...we are STILL waiting for our little monkey!
He's huge when I see him laying in the crib! And can I just say you are a brave mama to let him sleep with nothing over his diaper. I let Sophie nap with a dress on and no bloomers one day last year and came in to find it half off and a pile of poop in her bed. You've been warned! :-)
Well thank goodness for the social gene and no doubt he has inherited the drinking gene, it just hasn't shown up yet. But what a cutie. We can't wait to come play with him and eat!
